Substance Use Disorder / Addiction Services

What is addiction? Simply stated it is a problematic pattern of substance use that is causing significant distress.  As those close to addiction know it can have a catastrophic impact on physical health, mental health, relationships, work, self-worth, and/or finances. The good news is that addiction is treatable when an someone is willing to access the care they need.  At ATA we provide a full continuum of outpatient services, which leads to the best outcomes.  

High Intensity Outpatient – ThriveWell at ATA Bellevue

ThriveWell is a structured in-person high intensity outpatient program that consists of attending Monday through Friday, 9:00 AM to 2:30 PM. This program is often utilized when a person requires intensive care but does not require 24-hour supervision in an inpatient setting.  This comprehensive program adopts a holistic approach, addressing physical health, nutrition, and overall mental well-being alongside substance use issues. These services include a weekly appointment with our medical team, weekly individual therapy along with our enriched treatment programming that includes yoga, meditation training, Dialectical Therapy skills group and weekly physical wellness group.  The duration of care depends on individual needs but is typically in the range of two to four weeks.

Intensive Outpatient

Intensive outpatient consists of attending three, three hours groups weekly. This level of care provides structure and support in a format that can be integrated into existing work and family commitments.  We offer groups in the evening from 6:00 PM to 9:00 PM.  These groups are available by telehealth which conveniently eliminates the added commuting hours.  IOP groups include meditation training, relapse prevention, coping skills along with psychoeducation that combined provide a strong foundation for recovery. The duration of this level of care is approximately eight to twelve weeks. 

Low Intensity Outpatient

Low intensity outpatient consists of attending a once weekly 1.5-hour group for an estimated duration of three to six months.  This group provides ongoing support through the early phase of recovery when individuals can be at higher risk for substance use.  We offer a variety of day and time options throughout the week and have a few options with specialized focus.  We offer a co-occurring group that has is facilitated by a trained mental health counselor with programming that addresses mental health, trauma and substance abuse.  We also have a relapse prevention group for individuals who want to comprehensive explore situations, feelings and behaviors that have led to recurrent episodes of substance use.
